Services
AMY NUTTBROCK provides individual therapy services to adults and adolescents (13 years and older), as well as clinical supervision towards licensure. She works through a lens of attachment theory and trauma-informed care. Her therapeutic approach is drawn from psychodynamic, somatic experiencing, and AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) models (completed Level I AEDP training in October 2019). Her style is experiential, emotionally and relationally focused, with the ultimate goal of helping clients develop the skills they need to address and deal with their often painful emotional traumas, rather than resort to defensive tactics. She invites clients to tune into the wisdom of their core, adaptive feelings. When experienced fully, these healthy emotions provide important information about basic needs and guide people to act in ways that better fulfill these needs.
Intake paperwork may be completed prior to first session. Following consent to treatment, Amy will explore that which brings you to therapy at this time (why therapy now?). She will ask questions about the history, quality and impact of your specific concerns/needs. She will explore your relational and emotional experiences, and how they might impact current symptom manifestation. She may also inquire about messages and narratives that you’ve developed along the way as you grew into the person you are today. Through a framework of supportive and constructive dialogue, Amy will work in partnership with you to identify hopes and goals for therapy, always privileging our innate healing capacities and ability to courageously transform.
